\Can"dor\, n. [Written also {candour}.] [L. candor, fr. cand["e]re; cf. F. candeur. See {candid}.] 1. Whiteness; brightness; (as applied to moral conditions) usullied purity; innocence. [Obs.] Nor yor unquestioned integrity Shall e'er be sullied with one taint or spot That may take from your innocence and candor. --Massinger. 2. A disposition to treat subjects with fairness; freedom from prejudice or disguise; frankness; sincerity.
