\Con*fect"\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Confected}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Confecting}.] [L. confectus, p. p. of conficere to prepare. See {Comfit}.] 1. To prepare, as sweetmeats; to make a confection of. [Obs.] Saffron confected in Cilicia. --W. Browne. 2. To construct; to form; to mingle or mix. [Obs.] Of this were confected the famous everlasting lamps and tapers. --Sir T. Herbert.
