[imp. & p. p. {Bowdlerized}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Bowdlerizing}.] [After Dr. Thomas Bowdler, an English physician, who published an expurgated edition of Shakespeare in 1818.] To expurgate, as a book, by omitting or modifying the parts considered offensive.
