(a) A fleshy, rounded stem or root, usually containing starchy matter, as the potato or arrowroot; a thickened root-stock. See Illust. of {Tuberous}. (b) A genus of fungi. See {Truffle}. 2. (Anat.) A tuberosity; a tubercle.
