\Tope\ (t[=o]p), n. [Probably from Skr. st[=u]pa a tope, a stupa, through Prakrit th[=u]po.] A moundlike Buddhist sepulcher, or memorial monument, often erected over a Buddhist relic.
\Tope\, n. [Tamil t[=o]ppu.] A grove or clump of trees; as, a toddy tope. [India] --Whitworth.
