\So*ci"e*ty\, n.; pl. {Societies}. [L. societas, fr. socius a companion: cf. F. soci['e]t['e]. See {Social}.] 1. The relationship of men to one another when associated in any way; companionship; fellowship; company. ``Her loved society.'' --Milton.
