\Port*cul"lis\, n. [OF. porte coulisse, cole["i]ce, a sliding door, fr. L. colare, colatum, to filter, to strain: cf. F. couler to glide. See {Port} a gate, and cf. {Cullis}, {Colander}.] 1. (Fort.)
