\Ir"ri*gate\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Irrigated}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Irrigating}.] [L. irrigatus, p. p. of irrigare to irrigate: ir- in + rigare to water; prob. akin to E. rain. See {Rain}.] 1.
