\I*rid"o*line\, n. [Iridescent + L. oleum oil.] (Chem.) A nitrogenous base {C10H9N}, extracted from coal-tar naphtha, as an oily liquid. It is a member of the quinoline series, and is probably identical with {lepidine}.
