\Cam"ass\, n. [American Indian name.] (Bot.) A blue-flowered liliaceous plant ({Camassia esculenta}) of northwestern America, the bulbs of which are collected for food by the Indians. [Written also {camas}, {cammas}, and {quamash}.] Note: The Eastern cammass is Camassia Fraseri.
