L. caldarius suitable for warming, fr. caldus, calidus, warm, fr. calere to be warm; cf. Skr. [,c]r[=a] to boil. Cf. {Chaldron}, {Calaric}, {Caudle}.] A large kettle or boiler of copper, brass, or iron. [Written also {cauldron}.] ``Caldrons of boiling oil.'' --Prescott.
