\Bor"rel\, n. [OF. burel a kind of coarse woolen cloth, fr. F. bure drugget. See {Bureau}. Rustic and common people dressed in this cloth, which was prob. so called from its color.] 1. Coarse woolen cloth; hence, coarse clothing; a garment. [Obs.] --Chaucer. 2. A kind of light stuff, of silk and wool.
